Mt. Airy Net is a local crisis office and food pantry for the Mount Airy community. Mount Airy sits at the edge of 4 different counties and it makes it difficult for families to get to the county services.  The donations we receive mostly come from community members such as churches, civic groups, businesses, and individuals.  Food drives and fundraisers are held throughout the year to help keep items available to families in need within our community.  

Families can come in once a month if needed to receive a cart full of non-perishable items, toiletries, frozen meats, produce when available, and pet food.

If a neighbor is need of help with paying their rent or has a utility turn off we can help with that.  There are other various needs that come up that we often help with also.

Sitting in the four counties, Frederick, Carroll, Howard and Montgomery often makes it difficult to apply for grants at the county level.  Some require the distribution to only be in that county. We have been blessed by a few resources that allow us to provide for everyone.

We have just updated our database and are hoping to update our 10-year-old computer soon.  A couple of our refrigerator/freezers are on their last leg, and we are hoping to remodel our pantry to allow families to come in and shop for the items they need, rather than being handed bags of items.  There is so much dignity in choices.  We try to provide as many as we can.
