The Mustang Project, Inc
About us
Born of the belief that positive experiences with animals can be life-changing, The Mustang Project was created to provide a place where youth could come and learn about and interact with horses in order to create empathy for animals and people and to develop a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. The Mustang Project provides sanctuary for mustangs that were once at risk of going to slaughter. This includes some of the horses that were removed from the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge by US Fish and Wildlife as well as horses removed from public lands by the Bureau of Land Management. The Mustang Project advocates for keeping Mustangs on their home range in a natural state and recognizes their value in reducing the risks of wildfires. All of the horses at our sanctuary were at risk of going to slaughter, but now have been given the chance to live out their lives in safety and peace – no more dangerous roundups, no chance of going to slaughter – all because of generous donors like you!And these horses give back so much in return. A chance to heal, to learn and to connect with nature. You can be a part of that. Won't you join us?
