Shine helps victims of domestic abuse to get safe and stay safe. Our advocates, staff and volunteers provide professional crisis response; supporting victims; providing refuge; helping children traumatized by domestic abuse and motivating men to end violent behaviour. Shine's education team works with police, medical staff, health professionals, businesses and schools to help the understanding around domestic behaviour, be able to recognise the signs and respond accordingly. Shine is a service of Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN), a charitable social service organisation that supports vulnerable people and enhances local communities. Shine have been bringing practical, compassionate support to New Zealanders for 29 years. Domestic violence is one of New Zealand's biggest social issues and Shine is working on many different fronts to work towards making New Zealand homes violence free. But we can't do it on our own - we need our communities to stand up against domestic violence and help Shine make a difference.
