Rowdy Girl Sanctuary’s mission is to provide sanctuary to farm animals at risk of being slaughtered and promotes an ethical vegan lifestyle. RGS seeks to educate the public on plant based options, FFA/4H, factory farming practices, and the devastating impact of animal agriculture on the environment.We advocate on behalf of farmed animals who have no voice and are mercilessly trapped in our modern food system. We provide rescued animals sanctuary and care for their lifetime, and educate the public through programs like Families Choosing Compassion (FCC) and the Rancher Advocacy Program (RAP). 

Renee King-Sonnen, Founder and Executive Director, along with her husband Tommy Sonnen established RGS in 2015. Tommy is a former cattle rancher which makes the RGS story unique. In fact, New York-based filmmaker Jason Goldman just completed a documentary entitled Rowdy Girl with Executive Producer Moby, to be screened in film festivals this year.
