Rose Acres Rescue works in rural Alabama saving dogs and cats, including motherless puppies and kittens that are in imminent danger of death. We primarily pull from kill shelters. Public intake and hoarder cases are accepted as space allows. Animals not accepted by arose Acres Rescue are networked and owners/finders given available resources. Rose Acres Rescue takes in approximately 100 animals per year, has regular fosters and Golden Foster program which enables senior citizens and disabled persons to have a pet with expenses and assistance covered by the rescue. Education is essential component of ending the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Alabama. Rose Acres Rescue attends events in which education of children and teenagers is focus. The animals are housed at the rescue in our Hound House and Cat House. The rescue is located on a large farm on Big Wills Creek in Attalla, Etowah County, Alabama in the United States. The animals are vetted and socialized and when ready, adopters are sought. If an animal is not adoptable, the animal is placed in sanctuary status and will live at the rescue. Rose Acres Rescue is located in a heavily dog and cat overpopulated area and has limited community resources for funding.
