Youth of today need to understand the energy problems they will be facing as adults. What worked in the past will not continue to work, we need to address a changing energy climate by teaching our youth about renewable energy resources and what the impacts of continued fossil fuel usage will have on their world. There is also a need to address the environmental impacts of pollution on water quality and show them through conservation programs what can be done and what still needs to be figured out to preserve our water quality into the future. A third problem facing youth of today is a lack of outdoor programs, leading to kids who just don't know anything about nature and ecology. Many are also lacking  the soft skills employers are looking for in their employees like communications, problem solving, initiative, and motivation.
