Providence is a specialized preschool and kindergarten committed to providing programs and services to support the development of young children with disabilities. With 6 school locations across Calgary, Alberta, Providence works with over 860 children annually between the ages of 19 months and six years. Providence believes that all children should be given the opportunity to reach for and achieve their full potential and is an advocate for and participant in strategic initiatives to advance early education across the province.
In addition to the school-based programs, Providence provides community services; the Inclusive Child Care Program supports eligible child care programs by providing information, resources, coaching and professional development and the Expanding Capacity and Learner Supports (ECLS) Program provides therapy supports to K-12 students and staff in independent and private schools.
Providence is embarking on a significant expansion with the opening of its new school, Providence Northmount. This central North Calgary location will serve 180 children across eight classrooms annually, providing essential early intervention and inclusive education for children with a wide range of disabilities. While this new site offers exciting opportunities for growth, it also requires extensive renovations before it can fully serve the community and we need YOUR help to meet our goal in opening the school, Spring 2025.
