Pelican and Seabird Rescue Inc. is 1 of just a few organisation world wide that has the expertise to rescue birds that are injured but still flight capable i.e. Leg trauma. With 3 wildlife hospitals in South East Queensland our animals receive the most professional help during their assessment and treatment plans for rehabilitation should that be the case. We are a non profit volunteer organisation and our hotline is available 24/7. We work closely with the RSPCA rescue units especially on the rescue methods for injured flighted birds and handling especially the large species like pelicans and swans. Litter and fishing tackle is a the biggest problem the wildlife face around and in our waterways. In an effort to send our message out to the greater community we have joined the Australian Veterinary Association PetPEP program which reaches out to the schools with education on pets and wildlife.
