About us

Pawprints is a group of skilled wildlife rescuers in Wirral. We came together out of a desire to provide clinical excellence in wildlife care and to ensure that any wildlife in need was responded to effectively and in proportion to their need. We aim to release all healed creatures so will only medicate and ease the suffering of those we feel able to allow a full life. We love our wildlife and work tirelessly to ensure those that come into our care receive exactly what they need to survive. This comes at a price. We have rent to pay. We have high electricity costs as we aim to keep our sick patients warm while in our care. We pay high vet bills, as, despite popular belief, treating wildlife is not free of charge. We refuse to skimp on veterinary care because of cost. But we are doing our bit, in our little corner of the world, to ensure our endangered wildlife gets every opportunity to survive, to thrive and to reproduce to protect the species. Our specialism is hedgehogs, but we have cared for foxes, birds big and small, mice, bats and many squirrels.
