The Ohio SPCA & Humane Society works to prevent and stop cruelty to all domestic animals throughout Ohio. Our mission falls into three main areas: 1) intervention in cases of animal cruelty, 2) animal rehabilitation, and 3) adoption. We operate both an animal shelter and a farm sanctuary where all domestic animals can find a safe haven. The OHIO SPCA worked for ten years to bring reform to rural county pounds in Ohio. As a result, the use of bullets, engine exhaust, gas boxes, and gas chambers ended as of June 2021 in all Ohio counties. Our intervention has resulted in proactive adoption procedures, proper cleaning, spay/neuter programs, and humane euthanasia. Thousands of lives have been saved.
