We are a not for profit charity registered with the ACNC dedicated to rescuing orphaned newborn and neonatal kittens. No infrastructure was available in Southern Tasmania to get kittens to a specialized neonatal foster carer in a timely fashion 24 hours a day, seven days a week and so a group of foster carers began a project to do just that. Coordinated through facebook with the help of volunteers and a huge community of people who care, the most vulnerable of all feline populations has now been given the same chance of survival as their older counterparts at rescue. In the first year we rescued 225 kittens and had a survival rate of 93% with all these kittens adopted into loving homes and wherever possible potential parents desexed. We believe that a community that cares does not allow animals to become stray or feral and stepping up to help the most vulnerable and innocent feline population encapsulates that caring and engages the community in restoring cats to a valued and cared for human companion animal.
