Cancer Council
About us
How This Came About.
Our little Mazda 323 is a movie star, it has been chased down by a Semi Trailer in The Tourist, and
been host to a serial killer in the up coming Stan Mini Series Thou Shall Not Steal. While filming
under the hot desert sun in central Australia it earned its nick name of the Mazderadi ShitBox, as its
compact size posed many problems, but the mighty Mazda pulled through every time.It was probably a touch of heatstroke, but I had the idea why not enter it in the Shit Box Rally, there
are plenty of good reasons why not but the idea was born and the rumor spread throughout the
crew. We have all been touched by the dreadful curse of cancer affecting the ones we love so what
more of a fitting end for the little Mazda than to give something back and in a small way help the
worthy cause and raise some much-needed money for the Cancer Council.
Shitbox Rally 2024 Spring will be held October 18th to October 26th
2024, travelling from Bendigo to Townsville.
Shitbox Rally is not a race, rather a challenge to achieve the unthinkable… To drive cars worth just
$1,500 across Australia via some of its most formidable roads, under the harshest conditions all in
the name of charity. All teams need to raise a minimum of $5,000 to participate in the rally, or $2,500 each driver. So we
need to start hassling our friends, work colleagues, and family, and brainstorm some fun ways to
boost our fundraising.Our Fundraising
We hope to organize an adventure rally day to visit the Adelaide filming locations with co operation
from the HSV owners club, A wine auction and a formal dinner party at the sporting car club and the
little car will be available for special events displays and trade functions.

The Impact, Outcomes & Charity
Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.
Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We
conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.
Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that
reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.
$41 million over the past 13 years has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting groundbreaking projects such as:
• A research study to develop a vaccine that protects against lymphoma
cancers.
• A research trial to standardise international guidelines on melanoma
removal.
• A research grant to revolutionise the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
