Mayhew is an animal welfare charity working to improve the lives of dogs, cats and the people in our communities - at our Home in London and internationally. 

For nearly 140 years, Mayhew has been here, right at the heart of the communities in which we work providing a lifeline to thousands of dogs and cats in need. We focus on keeping pets and people together through a range of preventative services, as well as caring for and rehoming hundreds of lost and abandoned dogs and cats each year. 

It is not an easy time for animal welfare charities, here or abroad. Like our peers, we are seeing a soaring demand for our services. We are continuing to see first-hand how the cost of living is causing unimaginable harm and strain for pet owners, who are increasingly having to make difficult choices. 

At the same time, our own costs have risen significantly and each day at Mayhew costs more than £7,500. We rely entirely on the generosity of the public to fund our work and help us to care for the dogs, cats and communities who need us.
