Action for Greyhounds
Action for Greyhounds formed in 1999 to raise awareness of the plight of Greyhounds who are bred and used for the commercial Greyhound racing industry worldwide. We urge people not to support the industry and we promote Greyhounds as family pets and encourage people to consider fostering and adopting unwanted Greyhounds who become ' surplus to requirements' to the industry who may be otherwise destroyed. When AfG formed there were approx 50 licenced Greyhound tracks operating in Britain and approx 25 unregulated ( flapping) tracks...now in 2020 there only remain 20 licenced and 5 flapping tracks..we believe our continual campaigning/awareness has had an impact on the steady decline of the Greyhound racing industry.
