Thornberry Animal Sanctuary is one of the most well established and well respected animal rescue charities in South Yorkshire. Founded in 1988 and becoming a registered charity in 1993 we have rescued and rehomed thousands of animals over the years. We rescue vulnerable dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other animals that are in desperate need of help. We provide them with a safe place to stay, food, warmth, exercise, socialisation and specialist animal and veterinary care. We then look to find them a suitable home where they will be safe and have a happy life. Animals come to Thornberry for a number of reasons including welfare cases, abandonment, family breakups, physical or mental health issues leading owners to give up their animals, owners moving house and more. Thornberry has had a difficult year financially like a lot of charities have, so this grant would be a great help to the sanctuary and the animals we care for.
