At Lup Sanctuary and Rescue, we provide more than just shelter — we offer a chance at life for animals no one else is equipped to help.

Tucked deep in the wilderness and miles down a gravel road, we operate fully off-grid. That means no city power, no paved access, and no convenience — just grit, compassion, and a relentless mission to save animals that most rescues won’t touch.
We specialize in wolfdogs, high-drive mixes, and dogs with behavioral or medical challenges — the ones who end up on euthanasia lists because they’re too complex, too misunderstood, or simply too much work.

✨ Emergency RescueWe respond to urgent cases: dogs facing euthanasia in overcrowded shelters, neglected animals, and returns from failed homes. These aren’t easy cases — they require time, training, and trust.
✨ Specialized RehabilitationMost of the animals we take in have suffered trauma. Some are feral, others are sick or injured, and many have never known kindness. We work patiently to help them recover — physically and emotionally — so they can either live in sanctuary or find permanent homes.
✨ Lifetime SanctuaryNot every animal we save is adoptable — and that’s okay. We are committed to providing lifelong care* for the animals who can’t safely leave. They are never just warehoused. They roam, play, and are part of a pack — and they are safe.
✨ Advocacy & EducationWe’re not just here to save lives — we’re here to change minds. Through outreach and storytelling, we work to shift the public’s understanding of wolfdogs, the rescue crisis, and the animals often left behind.

In just 16 months, Lup Sanctuary has:
* Saved over 19 dogs from euthanasia* Rehabilitated 13 wolfdogs with behavioral issues* Provided permanent sanctuary to 2 non-adoptable animals* Transported animals hundreds of miles from danger to safety — even when roads were flooded, the Jeep broke down, or funds were low
And we do all this with no government funding, limited help, and a deep belief that every life matters.
