Lovesome’s Motto is “Where everyone is welcome to horse around”. Lovesome serves children and adults with life challenges/disabilities. Many of our clients have epilepsy. We serve clients from ages three to ninety-six. We work with all income levels and provide a supportive environment free from any type of discrimination, while also providing physical and emotional safety. Our farm is a peaceful sanctuary that everyone is welcome to enjoy. Currently, nearly 80 riders per week come to Lovesome Stables for their weekly therapeutic horseback riding lesson. Lovesome has lessons four days per week. The weekly lessons have four riders per class, of similar age and/or ability so riders may learn from each other and socialize before and after class. We try to have the riders be as independent as possible with volunteers to help as needed. Most of our riders are provided with a horse leader and can have up to two side walkers. Side walkers physically assist the rider during riding, mounting and dismounting. The side walker also helps the rider guide their horse during the lesson and assists the rider in following the directions of the instructor as necessary. The amount of assistance is dependent on each rider’s abilities.
