​The Joy of Jasper, founded in 2007, is a non-profit sanctuary dedicated to providing forever homes to abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted horses and ponies. This sanctuary was formed in memory of a very special horse, Jasper, who made all the difference in the world to one little girl.

The Joy of Jasper is the joy that comes from taking care of and being with an animal as magnificent as a horse or pony. It is also the joy that the horse or pony feels when he knows that he has found a way to our pastures. Horses and ponies that are surrendered to The Joy of Jasper are never put up for adoption. These special equines will be cared for by The Joy of Jasper until they pass away.

Horses and ponies are powerful, yet graceful and sensitive. They are majestic and beautiful – an American symbol, if you will. They are intuitive, and they have an uncanny way of inspiring confidence, self-esteem, trust and love in those who care for them. At The Joy of Jasper, it is our vision to bring at-risk youth to the barn to work with our horses, so that they can receive these gifts.
