About us
Through our Healthy Harold programme, we teach more than 250,000 primary school children each year to embrace healthy choices. Specialist educators travel throughout the country in their fleet of mobile classrooms with mascot Harold the giraffe, where students have fun, engaging lessons - learning about their body, friendships, their identity, online safety, food and nutrition and helpful and harmful substances.
In secondary schools we support youth through three Theatre-in-Education programmes. SMASHED informs and educates young people on the dangers of underage drinking, promoting responsible attitudes to alcohol. Behind the Scenes explores vaping and social media influence. SMART$, encourages financial literacy, empowering young people to make positive financial choices. Our free learning tool, SMART$ Online, helps teenagers understand how money works.
We also support teachers through professional development workshops in key health topics: nutrition, anxiety, neurodiversity and digital wellbeing. By equipping teachers with knowledge and practical strategies they can better support all students, including those with conditions such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.
Life Education Trust is not funded by the government. We rely on the generosity of funders and donors to enable the Healthy Harold programme to be delivered from the Far North to the deep South. Please help Harold help kiwi kids and donate to Life Education Trust today.
