We are a small but mighty rescue based in Ohio County, Kentucky whose mission is to provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes, rescues or sanctuaries. We primarily focus on serving the underserved rural areas of Ohio, Muhlenberg and McLean Counties but we try to help animals in any area that we are able to. We firmly believe that community access to low cost spay/neuter services is the cornerstone for successful rescue efforts. We also believe that TNR or Trap-Neuter-Return is key to humanely managing stray and street cat populations as there are simply not enough homes for them all and we want to keep these healthy but otherwise unadoptable cats out of already over burdened shelters. We currently host 2-3 spay/neuter clinics a month with a goal of spaying/neutering at least 100 cats and dogs per clinic. We provide assistance and financial aid through grants, fundraisers and donations to prevent overpopulation through these spay/neuter programs. We have an ongoing commitment to educating our communities on the benefits of spaying and neutering pets and work continuously to share and provide low/no cost options to the general public. We also network other Kentucky no-kill rescue cats and dogs to no-kill groups that have resources to help. We distribute low/no cost food to community members assisting large number of felines or to low income citizens in time of need. We also are caring for well over 100 feral and semi feral cats at our Sanctuary and are committed to providing these felines with life time care and love.
