It Takes a Village is a small South-Eastern Ontario based, registered non-profit organization that focuses on finding homes for Canadian dogs in need. Our organization is foster based and is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers and experienced rescuers who have united to improve the lives of dogs who find themselves without a home. We believe in giving dogs in need a fresh start at a new life.

Canada has a significant dog overpopulation problem and dogs are left to fend for themselves in harsh living conditions. We focus our attention here at home, taking in dogs from Northern Communities, local shelters and owner surrenders.
