Iron Horse Sanctuary, Inc. is a safe haven for unwanted and forgotten animals, located in Goshen NY. Founded in August 2019 by Kay O’Hanlon and Barbara Fontaine, Iron Horse Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to saving and healing animals. Although we’ve just recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary of being an official nonprofit organization, Kay and her family have been saving, caring for and financially supporting rescued animals on their 5th generation farm for over 25 years. We are a 100% volunteer-based organization, providing quality animal care and rehabilitation to over 50 equine, farm and feline animals who have been thrown away, abandoned, abused and neglected. 30 of these animals are equines. Iron Horse Sanctuary, along with many other individuals and businesses, has been adversely affected by COVID-19. For us, grants are far and few between and foundation funding has ceased and Sanctuary tours and fundraising events are limited. Our costs to feed and care for our 50 animals runs us over 15K per month, so we are looking to secure future revenue.
