Horse Emergency Evacuation Team
About us
HEET is a non-profit, public service organization comprised of volunteers trained to evacuate and shelter horses during a disaster in San Luis Obispo County, upper Santa Barbara County and lower Monterey County areas. We also respond to other animal involved emergencies within the surrounding areas assisting CAL FIRE and other emergency personnel in their time of need. All of our operating costs come from donations. We have three operating trailers that house our equipment and our communications center that we maintain for use during emergencies.
