Mount Alvernia Day Care and Learning Center provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the spiritual, physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of young children by providing developmentally appropriate programs. We serve the northern Pittsburgh suburbs in the areas of Shaler, Millvale, Reserve, Allison Park, and the surrounding areas. The center provides quality childcare at convenient times, allowing dual-earning families to remain in the workforce with trusted confidence in quality childcare. Our staff embody the Franciscan values, and we strive to instill these values into the children and families whom we serve. We have a Keystone STARs 2 accreditation, and the staff and leadership of the center embody the quality and value-added learning techniques that the program requires. Families have shared that their Kindergarten students consistently score in the advanced categories on placement exams, and our highly skilled team of Group Supervisors are continually searching for new methods and training programs to keep our Quality Improvement Rating Score above standard. The Center also provides several unique services, including before- and after-care programs with bussing services to and from local primary schools, as well as a comprehensive summer care program for children up to 6th grade.
