Homeless healthcare

Founded in 2008, Homeless Healthcare (HHC) is a Western Australian not-for-profit dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of people experiencing homelessness and marginalisation. Established by Dr Andrew Davies OAM, HHC was created in response to a clear reality: homelessness is a health issue, and lasting change requires healthcare, housing, and social support to work together.

At HHC, we believe the greatest improvements in health come from safe, stable housing combined with timely, trauma-informed healthcare. Our model recognises that health is shaped by far more than medicine alone. That’s why we integrate clinical care with psychosocial support, advocacy, and strong partnerships across the homelessness, health, and community sectors.

Today, HHC is Perth’s largest provider of primary healthcare for people experiencing homelessness. We deliver care through a flexible, outreach-based model that meets people where they are — on the street, in shelters, in hospitals, and in the community. Our services include street outreach, mobile clinics, hospital in-reach, medical respite, and bespoke stabilisation programs for pregnant women and babies, as well as individuals needing longer-term health and social support.

Our multidisciplinary teams provide primary healthcare, mental health care, and alcohol and other drug (AOD) support, with deep expertise in complex trauma, chronic illness, and disadvantage. We support people at every stage of their homelessness journey — from crisis and rough sleeping through to recovery and stability — enabling continuity of care and long-term, trusted relationships between patients and clinicians.

This approach reduces avoidable hospital and emergency department presentations, improves health outcomes, and supports sustainable pathways into housing, community connection, and independence. For many people, HHC is the first place they feel genuinely seen, respected, and cared for.

Our vision is a future where no one’s health is compromised by homelessness. Through patient-centred care, strong advocacy, and innovative service delivery, HHC works to restore dignity, improve wellbeing, and create real opportunities for people to rebuild their lives.

When you support Homeless Healthcare, you’re not just funding services — you’re helping change lives and systems.
