Hearts of Baja Children’s Homes Network was created as a 501 (c)(3). so that we may better communicate the everyday needs and successes of nearly 6,000 children living in group homes, orphaned or not…… living in our own backyard. We are fully aware that there are other children and families in need, but we are simply trying to save one child at a time and this is the path we have chosen. It will take a very strong Team of loving people to accomplish our goals and it will not happen in a day or month or even just one year. But we have started and we are asking you to continue with us to keep it going. We visualize this project as a huge, strong tree with many sturdy branches. We already have many wonderful, capable people who have committed themselves to one branch or another. There are numerous ways to help. A database was begun in early October of 2016, so that we could see the ‘bigger picture’ of the situation. Of the 122 reported registered Homes, we have partial or complete info on only 84. Many questions have been answered as to why not all homes are registered and we are happy to share these insights at any time. For each 20 children in any of our Homes we provide the following monthly basics: 80 lbs of chicken, 20 lbs of beans, 24 liters of long life milk, 5 doz eggs, 2 gal cooking oil, 20 lbs rice, 12 lbs beef liver, 5 lbs of canned tuna, 20 lbs of flour, 14 lbs of hot dogs, 6 packs of hotdog buns, plus food distribution from events like Blues Against Hunger.
