Geelong Region Cancerians
About us
Geelong Region Cancerians was launched on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Deakin University Waterfront Campus with over 100 guests attending.
Guest speaker: Professor Tom Jobling OAM and Professor Ian Brown, CEO of Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) spoke and emphasised the importance of the community’s support.
Vision of Geelong Region Cancerians (GRC) is to raise awareness and funds that support research into cancer.
The Geelong Region Cancerians is the first regional city in Victoria to form and be affiliated with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
Funds raised will support research into all cancers including uterine cancer and educate the community regarding the warning signs that can precede a cancer diagnosis.
During COVID-19 we have marketed our sponsors and donors who are "open for business" in person or on-line including those that have diversified or businesses offering "explore from afar"
In 2018 we raised $8,000 form April to November. 2019 we raised $25,000, both amounts were donated to ACRF.
