The problem: Dupuytren treatment is inadequate. Dupuytren disease cripples the hands of millions worldwide. Current treatments often fail those with severe disease because they don’t correct the root cause. Dupuytren needs a preventive medicine but first needs a blood test to develop preventive treatments.

The solution: Research for better treatments. The Dupuytren Research Group is the only organization conducting research to develop a Dupuytren blood test, the key to safer, more effective, preventive treatments. Our goal is to reduce the need for surgery, reduce the need for repeat surgery, and reduce the impact of Dupuytren on overall health and longevity.

The catch-22: Funding for innovation. Research grants require a track record of research data to qualify for funding. But this type of research hasn’t been done because Dupuytren is treated by surgeons, and surgeons don’t do blood test research. Medical doctors do, but they don’t do Dupuytren research because they don’t treat Dupuytren.

Our answer: We are filling the gap, and self-funding our own pilot study research to get the ball rolling. Blood test research is complicated and expensive. Thanks to Dupuytren community support, our research is underway. We need your help to complete this work to open a new era of Dupuytren treatment.
