We are a non-profit, non-destruct charity which helps manage the significant problem of feral and abandoned cats in the area. The charity was established in 1997 and is run entirely by volunteers. Coventry has a population of nearly half a million people and a significant problem with unwanted and stray cats. We are alerted about these via a helpline and trained volunteers go out to catch them, check them for microchips and bring them to the centre. They are then treated for health problems, neutered as required and gradually undergo the lengthy process of socialisation by teams of volunteers at the centre. Coventry Cat Group has, to date, rehomed well over 1500 cats and we are always full to capacity. All the funds we raise go towards rescue and rehoming, feeding and looking after the cats in the centre and in foster care, and maintaining the buildings where the cats are housed in their journey to rehoming. We also work alongside other groups in the area supporting feral and stray cats.
