About us
Our Mission is to rehabilitate and rehome stray and unwanted animals in the North East of England. Helping Pets North East is run entirely by volunteers. We do not have kennels or a cattery. All our animals are placed into foster homes with a volunteer, this means we can more accurately advise which home would suit an animal in our care. We take in at risk pets, many of whom are being given away ‘free to a good home‘. We also take in animals at the owners request if they feel they can no longer care for them. We take in stray animals and try to locate an owner before putting them up for adoption. We are not a breed specific organisation and take in all types of cats and dogs, providing it is safe for us to do so. As an organisation we are committed to animal welfare and as a registered charity do what we can to help control the local feral cat population.
