COCO's mission is to provide sustainable sources of quality education to children living in poor and marginalised communities. Children living in remote communities of East Africa are those most often left behind, so we work with rural communities in Tanzania and Kenya to develop Schools for Life, which provide quality education to these children. It is essential that these sources of education are self-sustainable, meaning that they are not reliant on external funding and support. We ensure sustainability by working with the whole community, so that schools can be sustained and families can lift themselves out of poverty.
