We rescue, rehabilitate and bring back to full health horses and ponies, who come into our care. When they are ready we find homes for them with adopters or long term fosterers. We do not charge any adoptions fees and we ask only for donations. We keep track of all our animals and receive regular updates from adopters. Our adopters are mainly in Ireland, but we have also had animals adopted in Germany and UK. We get the horses from the local horse pound, from individuals who can no longer take care of their animals and also occasionally get calls from the local police to take an abandoned horse. This year we have had a high number of abandoned foals, who have come to us in very poor condition, some of them as young as two and a half months old. Thankfully they have all survived and are doing well. All our animals are checked by our vet, are vaccinated, wormed, and their feet and teeth checked. All our animals have full official passports. We are very lucky to be able to take care of these horses and ponies and it is wonderful when they find their home and the person who will be their friend for life. We ask for donations as all of the above is expensive and particularly in the winter months, when they need extra hay and feed.
