Caring for sick, abused and unwanted rabbits, Carrot Cottage is an ethical, family run charity. Set up by Chris and Daisy Barratt after an unwanted rabbit was given to them to care for, they quickly became aware of the difficulties that domestic rabbits face. Although they are the third most popular pet in the UK, they are greatly misunderstood and are often sold as ‘easy’ or ‘starter’ pets and are kept in the most appalling living conditions.

As the Welsh representatives for the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund, Carrot Cottage have recently been on national television and radio, educating the public about the importance of not buying rabbits from pet shops and breeders. They expect to receive a record amount of surrender requests following the Easter tradition of giving rabbits as pets.
