Camp Courage, The First Responder’s Society a one of a kind, free, award-winning, life-changing camp that informs, educates, and inspires young women to become police officers, firefighters and paramedics. The ultimate goal is that these young ladies leave with a sense of empowerment and increased confidence to believe that they can achieve any goal career or dream they desire.
Some of the skills they learn are CPR, inserting IV's, delivering mechanical babies, making cars into convertibles, climbing 100’ death-defying ladders, putting fires out, self-defense, crime scene investigation, and the police dogs and horses do demonstrations. Graduates are eligible for our post-camp mentorship program, bursary program, and high school credit for completing our program.
Instead of paying tuition, the applicants write an essay on how to improve someone else’s life that is less fortunate or how to improve their community and then implement their essay. Past graduates help the young, old, physically challenged, homeless, and the environment. The ripple effect on our community, the emergency services, and the youth is immeasurable.
