Established in 2021, Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) USA was created as an official partner to the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation.  BOS Foundation is the largest and most effective orangutan conservation organization worldwide. BOS Foundation currently cares for over 400 orangutans in two rehabilitation centers and have proudly released over 520 orangutans into our protected and managed rainforests in central and eastern Borneo, observing 34 wild-born babies from released females over the years. In addition to released orangutans, BOS Foundation protects over 1.1 million acres of Bornean Rainforest, home to over 3,000 wild orangutans. This combination of protecting existing wild populations and rebuilding new populations is beginning to stabilize the tragic decline of this critically endangered species, but there is much more work to be done to bring them away from the cliff edge of extinction.
