The Birch Foundation, a recently established charity situated in Bundall, stands committed to serving the community through a diverse range of offerings. Our services encompass a café and op shop, contributing to the aid of domestic and family violence victims, along with advocacy, counseling, and youth programs. Notably, we extend job opportunities and training to individuals with disabilities, support the elderly, and provide the expertise of a Justice of the Peace (JP) free of charge. In collaboration with Oracle Law, we deliver free legal advice to victims of violence, combining JP and solicitor assistance—a distinctive feature of our service.

Beyond the conventional focus on female victims, we dedicate ourselves to supporting men affected by domestic violence, recognizing the scarcity of available services for them on the Gold Coast. Our inclusive environment offers a haven where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee and access affordable goods. In response to the surge in crime, domestic violence, and homelessness exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, our foundation strives to fill existing service gaps. Through workshops tailored for both genders, we aim to provide education, social support, and practical guidance, addressing topics from coercive control to navigating legal processes. Our overarching goal is to combat these societal issues by offering vital assistance to those most in need.
