Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We believe that all youth can achieve their full potential, and we encourage this by matching youth ages 5-19 with volunteer adults to build resilience and friendship. Research shows that those in our program:

• are more likely to steer clear of drugs and alcohol
• do better in school
• get along better with their family and friends
• feel better about themselves

When compared to youth not in our programs, Littles were:

• 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
• 27% less likely to begin using alcohol
• 52% less likely to skip school
• 37% less likely to skip a class
• 33% less likely to hit someone
