One Spirit supports the Oglala Lakota Nation in their move to emerge from 150 years of enforced poverty, isolation and desperation. Their indigenous communities now strive to identify new ways to meet the basic needs of their people for food, shelter, employment, and a culturally wholesome and engaging life for their youth. The Allen Youth and Community Center provides food, learning opportunities, fun activities and a safe environment for the children of Allen, the poorest community in the US. 

We believe that on planet Earth all are related. We support the Lakota in their goal of achieving food sovereignty and self-sufficiency in their communities. Our programs promote intercultural relationships. American Indians are an equal and valued part of our world. We proudly think of One Spirit as a network of people exchanging handshakes and friendship with the Oglala Lakota of Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota USA.

We dream with the Lakota of their future on Pine Ridge offering employment, economic opportunity; safe homes with food, water, heat, electricity and communications; and revitalization of and respect for their language, traditions and culture. 90% of One Spirit’s funds go to ending hunger by implementing sustainable food sources, providing firewood for home heat to elders in need. We offer employment opportunities through our Charging Buffalo Facility and Wood for Home Heat programs.
