MUD has served Missoula for over 40 years and in that time has continued to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of the community. From bringing neighbors together to start the first community garden to teaching a variety of sustainable living skills to sharing resources with anyone who needs them - MUD has truly been at the forefront of helping build an incredible community. In its current form, MUD continues to provide tools to our community members who are battling an incredibly challenging housing market and saving people thousands of dollars in supplies and labor by empowering people to take on projects themselves. At the same time, MUD is keeping waste out of the landfill by extending the useful life of tools and encouraging reuse whenever possible. MUD brings our community together to celebrate sustainability, self-reliance, and the power of neighbors working together to build a safe, welcoming, and greener future.
