The Beautifully Flawed Foundation, formerly known as Friends of Bethany Hamilton, is a platform that encourages stories of hope, healing and a purpose-driven life to those who overcome some of life's greatest challenges. Taking root in the aftermath of Bethany Hamilton's shark attack in 2003, this organization first began as a way to distribute the overabundance of financial support given to the Hamilton family by creating gift packages for other individuals who had experienced recent limb losses and were hospitalized. Since that time, the organization has expanded to youth conferences and retreats for both men and women. In 2021, we will be hosting our 9th annual Beautifully Flawed Retreat in which girls and young women are invited to a private, week-long experience with Bethany herself in learning how to overcome the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual hurdles of limb loss and/or differences. Just shortly before the outbreak of COVID-19, we launched our first ever retreat for men called The Forge. We hope to receive the support that can continue to improve and expand these opportunities and experiences for those who have encountered great loss so that we can help be a part of the healing journey through empowerment and hope.
