BAWA (Bali Animal Welfare Association)
About us
Rescuing animals from lives of neglect is an important, yet never-ending task. BAWA's mission is to provide proactive, sustainable solutions to animal welfare issues in order to prevent the suffering before it occurs. BAWA’s many programs are designed to tackle the issue of animal welfare from all sides to not only directly relieve pain and suffering, but to make sustainable changes at a community level for a kinder, safer future.
Every day, BAWA changes thousands of lives through emergency response and rescue, food and medication, rehabilitation and adoption, and humane population and disease control. Through community engagement, we educate both children and adults alike to respect, understand, and have compassion for animals, and our Advocacy program seeks justice for animals who have been mistreated, and pushes for better animal protection laws to ultimately put a stop to all animal cruelty in Bali, including the dog meat trade.
Support us in creating a future for Bali’s animals where their suffering is no longer tolerated and ignored; a Bali in which each village is its own natural sanctuary for animals, where all animals are routinely vaccinated, healthy, cared for, and treated with compassion and respect.
