CHAMPION (Community Hub and Meeting Place in Our Neighbourhood) is a community service based in Bayswater, established by the Temple Society Australia (TSA). CHAMPION provides essential emergency food relief, community resources and a wholistic support to over 400 vulnerable individuals and families each month. With a commitment to fostering a sense of community and empowerment, CHAMPION offers various programs, events and additional services to uplift the lives of those in need. CHAMPION has seen a large increase in the number of people accessing our service in the last 12 months due to the rising cost of living and we continue to offer a non-judgmental service to people in the Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges council areas. We offer referrals, advocacy, budgeting assistance and other practical support and this takes time and resources. We need more people to donate food, toiletries or financial support to continue to offer a hand up, not a hand out!
