About us

Animal Concern are a small Scottish registered charity who campaign against animal cruelty and exploitation in Scotland and the wider UK.

We lobby politicians and Government Ministers, informing them about particular animal welfare issues in Scotland and Britain. We work with them to mitigate the risk of harm and to ensure better protections for wild, farmed and companion animals.

We also raise awareness about our causes and educate the public on what they can do to stop animal suffering.

Our campaigns include restricting the public sale of fireworks throughout the UK, prohibiting sky lanterns and helium balloons in Scotland, and banning the use of toxic rodenticides as a form of rodent population management in the Scottish countryside.

We also work with other animal advocacy charities such as OneKind, the League Against Cruel Sports, Animal Equality UK and the Scottish SPCA on issues such as phasing out greyhound racing in Scotland, banning trail hunting in England and Wales, stopping illegal animal abuse in UK factory farms and curbing the expansion of the fish farming industry in Scotland.
