About us
The Alberta Diabetes Foundation (ADF) has a vision for a world without diabetes. We do this by rapidly and strategically funding cutting edge diabetes research in Alberta for the world. For over 30 years, ADF has funded research that has improved lives for people with diabetes. The first 12 years focused on islet cell transplantation that led to the “Edmonton Protocol” - still an international standard of care. Today, ADF funds world-renowned research at the Alberta Diabetes Institute for the prevention and treatment of Type 1, Type 2 and pre-diabetes. We support developing researchers (studentships), emerging research, and innovations in research that disrupts traditional thinking, including inspiring commercialization. ADF is committed to finding a cure for diabetes in Alberta! This is your opportunity to help us build a future without diabetes.
