ActionStation’s mission is to tautoko (support) and whakamana (uplift) everyday New Zealanders to act together in powerful and coordinated ways to create what we cannot achieve on our own: a society, economy and democracy that serves all of us - everyday people and Papatūānuku, the planet we love. We are an independent, crowd-funded, community campaigning organisation. We have a proven model of member-driven, digitally facilitated, multi-issue, rapid response, grassroots campaigning with a focus on shifting public opinion and driving the media agenda in order to influence political decisions so they are better for people and planet. We take a values and evidence-based approach to all that we do. Launched in July 2014, we have now grown to a community of over 500,000 New Zealanders. We affiliate with no political party, and are instead guided by our members and supporters. We provide the petition platform https://our.actionstation.org.nz/ free of charge for values-aligned calls to action, and support and train petitioners to run successful campaigns. To date, the OurActionStation platform has hosted 562 petitions and collected over 1.6 million signatures. Our own campaign staff currently focus on social justice, whanau wellbeing and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Right now our key work includes campaigning for: dental care for all and better public housing futures, and campaigning against: the governments proposed Treaty Principles Bill, including uniting people under our initiative https://togetherfortetiriti.nz/about/
