Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary is a volunteer-based charity that rescues, rehabilitates and releases native wildlife back into their natural environment.

With each passing year, the sanctuary grows and can accommodate more and more animals in need of help.  Last year, we helped over 850!  Not only does WWS provide this essential public service, a place where people can seek help for injured and orphaned wildlife free of charge,  but it also answers thousands of telephone inquiries and provides environmentally sound advice, helping property owners resolve many human-wildlife conflicts.  

Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary strives to instill a deeper understanding and to promote a harmonious coexistence among people, wildlife, and the natural environment.  By providing this essential public service of helping people address wildlife concerns, and by admitting every animal into our care, we seize the opportunity to educate and inform them about our native wildlife and the environmental concerns affecting their survival.  As urbanization infringes on wildlife habitats and many species move up the Species at Risk list, it is more important than ever to do everything we can to help save affected wildlife and ultimately preserve their natural habitats.  As a compassionate and caring society, we need to step up and fix our wrongs.  Thus, when an animal is struck by a car or injured by the family cat, WWS is available to help.  A more humanitarian alternative than letting nature take its course or turning a blind eye.
