Walk Me Home Rescue Group is an all-volunteer, 100% foster based 501C3 non-profit dog rescue group. We rely on the generosity of our friends, the community and grants to aid in our mission of rescuing, medically treating, spay/neutering and finding forever homes for the dogs that enter our rescue. Our dogs come from local street abandonment (dumped), local owner surrenders and local high-kill shelter facilities. We pride ourselves on knowing that we are one of few rescues that will not turn away dogs due to age or illness. All of our dogs are placed in the home of a loving volunteer foster family where they are incorporated into the daily lives of that family. The dogs are evaluated, medically cared for, loved and also receive basic training skills to aid in the transition to their forever home. As a small rescue; the majority of our efforts both in time and monetary are used towards treating, healing and rehoming of our dogs. Monetary donations are primarily used for our extensive veterinary and specialists fees. We have numerous dogs join our rescue requiring major medical care; many of the pups with medical bills in excess $2,500.00. Walk Me Home Rescue Group also strives to give back, help and have a positive impact in our communities. We do community enrichment programs such as recently making dog kits for COVID-19 patients on Skid Row who own a companion dog and need to be isolated. Plus, we offer programs to help teach youth because we believe educating and supporting youth will have a positive and lasting impact and help teach and demonstrate how to treat others and the importance of respect and empathy.
