Turnig Pointe is a school created to meet the specific and unique needs of students learning with autism. As an ISBE-approved program, the school offers individuals with autism (aged 10 to 22) a full-time aid, LBS1 teacher and a team of inter-disciplinary clinicians. To promote year round growth and mitigate regression, Turning Pointe CN Day school includes an Extended School Year (ESY) summer semester. Students continue refining skills learned during the two semesters of the regular school year, improving IEP goals and practicing generalizing skills. Quarterly academic report cards and IEP progress reports allow you to consistently monitor your child’s growth. We also have a Career College program that fosters independence through two semesters of full-time coursework and includes practical training in real-world environments. Successful completion of our program opens the door to many new and exciting possibilities. In as little as ten months, students can graduate to receive Career Mentor Support and are guaranteed an interview with one of our employment partners. Funding private funding help each of these programs. Our day school needs supplies to help with programming and scholarship funding for our adults. Covid-19 has had an impact on our budget with postponing fundraisers and events. We ask people to go to our website and learn more about Turning Pointe and consider a donation to support students through scholarship or donating to help with technology, community outings and supplies.
