It is the mission of Toronto Humane Society to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. Following no kill principles, Toronto Humane Society aspires to be a best-in-class animal shelter – working in partnership with the community to find creative solutions and improve outcomes for all animals. One of our core beliefs is in strengthening the Human-Animal Bond. We always want to be working toward keeping pets and their guardians together, and finding ways to keep pets out of the shelter system. We offer expertise, knowledge and solutions to any pet (or guardian) in need. We run many programs, such as our foster care program, which has seen increased usage since the beginning of the pandemic as we aim to reduce the number of animals in our shelter. We also recently began offering tele-medicine consultations: for our foster parents, for pet guardians in the community, and even for other shelters that may need our expertise. Generous donations from thoughtful people like you is how Toronto Humane Society is able to care for thousands of injured, neglected or abandoned animals each year. And our work never ends as every day new animals come through our open doors - we are here to provide shelter, care and medical treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
