The HorsePower mission is to harness the healing power of the horse as we teach creative, challenging, and inspiring therapeutic riding, equine assisted learning, carriage driving lessons, and animal assisted activities to children and adults with developmental, physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. HorsePower, a 501(c)3 organization, was established on March 17, 2012. Our therapeutic lesson program includes individualized intake and assessment sessions, groom and tack, groundwork, ground-driving, carriage driving, and horseback riding instruction. We also offer an extensive animal assisted activities program called “Critter Connections” in addition to “Equine Assisted Learning” sessions. The use of the horse and other animals provides irresistible motivation, which allows students to achieve more in the saddle than other traditional sports and therapies.
